Boy Commandos #4, Fall 1943
It’s a rare book-length epic, touted as the “Special Invasion Issue.” This is the final page. A recurrent theme in Jack Kirby’s work is that when the world is at the brink of destruction, there’s the possibility of building Utopia. This prefigures Kirby’s New Genesis. This comic was made at a time when mankind was teetering on the edge of annihilation and the outcome was uncertain.
